This “field of hot water” is the symbol of Kusatsu Onsen and is found in the center of the town. It is one of the largest natural springs producing 5,000 liters of hot water every minute. The hot water passes through a series of wooden channels and is then sent to individual ryokans. The stuff which accumurates is popular as a souvenior and is called Yunohara, or in English “Hot Water Flowers”. In the evening the area is illuminated.

- 25 minutes from JR Naganohara-Kusatsuguchi by the bus bound for Kusatsu Onsen. Get off at Kusatsu Bus Termilal.
