Asakusa Ohtori-jinja Shrine

Information

Asakusa Ohtori-jinja Shrine, or commonly called "Otori-Sama", enshrines Ame-no-Hiwashi-no-Mikoto and Yamato Takeru-no-Mikoto deities. The shrine is famous for its "Tori-no-Ichi (bamboo rake market)" set up on the "day of the rooster" in November every year. People come to the grounds looking to purchase colorful rakes, to "rake in" good luck especially in business.
