Noboribetsu Onsen Hot Spring

InformationInformation

Noboribetsu Onsen Hot Spring is considered to be one of the most pre-eminent hot-spring resorts in Japan. It lies at an altitude of 200 meters and is surrounded by mountains on all sides. Noboribetsu Onsen is called "a department store of Onsen" since the hot spring resort has 11 springs of sulfur, alum, radium, etc.
"Jigokudani (Hell Valley)" is a site where a volcanic eruption once took place. It is the source of hot springs which gush out 3,000 liters per minute. Jigokudani is within easy walking distance from hotels in the center of Noboribetsu Onsen. Dai-ichi Takimotokan (a Japanese-style hotel) features a mammoth-bath accommodating 1,600 people, with seven varied springs.
