Tsukahara Onsen Hot Spring

Information
Tsukahara Onsen Hot Spring gushes out from a steam-breathing active crater called "Tukahara-jigoku", or Tsukahara Hell, on the mountainside of Mt. Garan-dake in northern Yufu. It is said that this secluded hot spring has been flowing since the Heian period (794 - 1185). The hot spring water's strong acidic pH of 1.4 is reputed to be especially effective against skin diseases.
The hot spring facility here called "Kako-no-Izumi" has both indoor and and outdoor baths, as well as some small bathrooms for families.
