Akasaka Sacas is a complex entertainment area filled with halls for events as well as shops and restaurants.
Most of the facilities, such as Sacas Plaza with a TV studio called Studio Sacas, Akasaka BLITZ live house, and ACT Theater, are hosted mainly by TBS, one of the major TV broadcasters in Japan.
The name "Akasaka Sacas" has several meanings, and one of the meanings is "Letting the cherry blossoms bloom" because "Sacas" has the same pronunciation with a Japanese word "Sakasu", which means bloom, and there are 100 of cherry trees planted here.
Also, a hill is called "Saka" in Japanese, so another meaning of "Sacas" is "Lots of hills" which describes this hilly area.
In addition, when "Akasaka Sacas" is written backwards, it becomes "three hills (Saca, Saka, and Saka)".
