Travel Guide - Furumachi

Furumachi is the oldest part of the Niigata City.
Unfortunately, a great fire in 1955 destroyed the old time atmosphere.
Today this district is a lively shopping quarter filled with big department stores and fashionable shops.

Nishibori Rosa, developed under Furumachi, is the most spacious and thriving underground shopping center on the Japan Sea coast.
Well worth visiting.
