Hako-yu Spa

Travel Guide - Hako-yu Spa

Information

Shuzenji Onsen is the oldest hot spring in Izu.
It is said that the second Kamakura Shogun Minamoto-no-Yoriie bathed in the hot spring 800 years ago.

Hako-yu Spa was opened in 2000 as a hot spring bathing facility for day trippers.
Relax and enjoy the historic hot spring in a tub made of fragrant Hinoki cypress wood.
The facility's eye-catching 12 meters high belvedere "Gyokuro" was constructed in tribute to a Kanshi (Chinese poem) wrote by Natsume Soseki, a prominent Japanese novelist who loved Shuzenji.
