Iwami Tatamigaura is a scenic site of rare national beauty created when the see floor was raised by an earthquake.
It is a geologically important site of 16 million years old strata that covers nearly 5 hectares of land, and is often referred to as "Nature's museum".
The area is designated as a National Cultural Asset and National Treasure.

  • 10 minutes from JR Hamada Station by the bus bond for Gotsu. Get off at Tatamigaura-guchi Bus stop, then walk 10 minutes.
