Information

There are many limestone caves in the karst topography area in Dorogawa, and Menfudo-Shonyudo Limestone Cave is the only cave which opens for tourists.
It is 280 meters long and the temperature inside stays around 8 degrees Celsius all year round.
Visitors can see the beautiful icicle-like stalactites and jutting stalagmites in the cave.
There is also a stone Buddhist image placed in the deepest point.

  • 7:00 - 19:00 (in summer)

Access / Public Transport

  • 75 minutes from Shimoichiguchi Station on the Kintetsu Yoshino Line by the bus bound for Dorogawa-Onsen. Get off at Dorogawa-onsen Bus stop, then walk 12 minutes.
