Nagoya TV Tower, built in 1954 as the first broadcasting tower in Japan, is a 180 meter-high steel tower erected on the 100 meter-wide boulevard referred to by the residents as Park Way.
It not only contains antennas for television broadcasting, but also accommodates sightseers.
Its observatory, situated 90 meters above ground and reached by elevator, is encircled by an observation platform where visitors may obtain a beautiful panoramic view extending from the Japan Alps on the north to Ise Bay on the south.
At the foot of the tower are Central Park, a beautiful promenade and a culture center.
