Oga Aqaualium GAO is a ship-shaped aquarium located on the Oga-hanto Peninsula.
It is the biggest aquarium in the Tohoku region, contains more than 500 species of fish and aquatic animals including Akita's prefectural fish Hatahata (sailfin sandfish).
Once passing through the entrance, you will encounter "The Sea of Oga", a huge tank which keeps 2,000 of fishes inside.
The aquarium also has a restaurant with a great view of the Sea of Japan and a museum shop which offers the aquarium's original goods.

Access / Public Transport
- 40 minutes from JR Hadachi Station by the bus bound for Yumoto-Chuzaisho. Get off at the last stop, then transfer to the bus bound for Oga Aqauarium GAO and get off at the last stop (15 minutes bus ride). *Booking is required for the bus for Oga Aqauarium GAO from Yumoto-Chuzaisho.
