Sogakudo of the Former Tokyo Music School is Japan's first western-style concert hall with a wooden structure, built in 1890.
Numerous celebrated Japanese musicians including Taki Rentaro have studied and trained here.
This hall and former home to the Tokyo Music School (Tokyo University of the Arts) was dismantled and moved to its current location in 1987, when it was opened to the public.
Over a hundred concerts are now held in the concert hall every year.
