Tatsukushi Coast

Travel Guide - Tatsukushi Coast

Information

Tatsukushi Coast is famous for its fantastic rocks formed by sea and wind erosion.
The rocks called "Ootake / Kotake (Large and small bamboos)" are especially popular since these rocks with cracks look as if huge bamboo trees are laid on the sea.
The coast is important geologically because lot of fossils, such as the footprints and coprolites of ancient animals can be found in a stratum here.

There are also Ashizuri Aquarium, Coral Museum and the Undersea Observatory on the coast.
